It’s been an eventful year for Tuscany, and there is still more to come.
The Board selected two new members in November. We had several excellent candidates and it was a difficult choice narrowing it down. Such a good problem to have! The two new members are Katelyn Penney and Brian Scott. We are very pleased to have them on board, and they are already starting to make a difference!
The 2023 Christmas Event will be held in the Clubhouse on Friday, December 22. Santa is even taking time out of his busy schedule to make an appearance! More information about this fun event for the whole family can be found here.
The Tuscany Holiday Lighting Contest is happening again this year! Judging will take place the week of December 18, so make sure your display is looking its best. There are so many wonderfully decorated homes it’s going to be hard for the judges to select the best ones! Same as last year, the prizes will be as follows:
- 1st place: $150
- 2nd place: $100
- 3rd place: $50
- Honorable Mention: $50
- Honorable Mention: $50
- Honorable Mention: $50
The CC&R amendment to improve the verbiage about parking still has a ways to go. As of last count we had received 380 ballots, with 286 “In Favor” votes, 87 “Not In Favor” votes, and 7 invalid votes (no vote checked, duplicate, missing information). We still have at least 697 homeowners who have not yet voted. To pass, the amendment requires 540 “In Favor” votes. You can view and print the ballot here. If you have not already done so, please complete the ballot, including your name and address on page one, along with your vote, signature, and the date on page two. As a reminder, this amendment is designed to address the following:
- Clarify that limited street parking is allowed, as long as it is not done habitually and does not create a safety hazard (this will not impact parking within the patio homes, as parking is never allowed on the fire lanes, or anywhere within Tuscany where “No Parking” signs are posted)
- Make allowance for boat, travel trailer, and RV street parking for up to forty-eight (48) hours for the sole purpose of loading, unloading, and cleaning
- Remove Article IV, Section 4.23 entirely, as it contains language that is contradictory to Sections 4.12 and 4.16
The work on the updated Palermo entrance is about to begin! A final design has been selected and the contractor approved to begin the work. The plantings, which will be a big part of the new design, cannot be completed until spring, but we should start to see the transformation very soon!
On a sad note, the lights at the Balthasar entrance were vandalized a third time. They were damaged again almost immediately after being fixed. At this point it is clear these particular lights are being targeted, and it doesn’t make sense for the Board to keep spending money to have the lights on this particular tree repaired just to have it get vandalized again. Fortunately, the rest of the entrance still looks nice. We apologize to the homeowners who use the Balthasar entrance that they will not have a complete display this year.
