Next Tuesday, August 3, 2021, is National Night Out from 6-9 p.m.
Dear Tuscany Residents,
The Board of Directors encourages Tuscany residents to participate in America’s Night Out Against Crime. For generations, block parties have served as a way for neighbors to meet each other, have fun and build spirit and unity within our community. Keeping safety protocols in mind while Idaho is currently under Stage 4 guidelines due to increasing in Covid-19 cases in our area, we have worked hard to come up with options for residents of Tuscany to participate in whatever ways they feel comfortable and safe.
Below is a guide to making your block’s NNO the best evening for all along with a link to the most updated Covid-19 safety protocols for Meridian and the state of Idaho, which is currently under Stage 4.
Along with the traditional display of outdoor lights and front porch vigils, residents of Tuscany are encouraged to celebrate National Night Out with a variety of events and activities including front yard cookouts/block parties, participation in Tuscany’s Robber Duckie Scavenger Hunt, and Family Portrait Chalk Walk.
Keep an eye out for local law enforcement and first responders who may be making a visit to YOUR block party! National Night Out is designed to:
- Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness;
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs;
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and
- Send a message to criminals that Tuscany is organized and fighting back.
National Night Out (NNO) is a unique event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch and is held the first Tuesday in August. The campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations, and local officials from over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities, and military bases worldwide. In all, over 37 million people participate in NNO worldwide annually. National Night Out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive, and enjoyable program to promote neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships in our fight for a safer nation. The benefits our community will derive from NNO will most certainly extend well beyond one night.
Our hope is all residents will spend time outside with neighbors on National Night Out “HomeAtTuscancy.”
Sincerely,
The Board of Directors
